Westport Rocks

Photograph by Steve Chandler

Steam ships for the lumber industry anchored precariously close to these rocks in former times. Rough pilings, iron ring bolts and heavy cables were fastened to these and surrounding rocks to carry logs to the ships. Old photographs reveal the mess early logging made of the natural beauty of this remote coastal region.
