South Calico Plain

Catching the desert landscape at times when it is "showing off" is one of the most crucial aspects of timing in my photo work.   This location, at the southern tip of the huge Black Rock High Rock National Conservation Area was photographed after a series of unusual spring rains.   This evening photo session was graced with beautiful clean air and just the right cloud formations.   A vast alluvial plain surrounds the Calico Hills and Mountains, with the plant life at it's peak of green color.
